Haptik’s Virtual Assistant for Commerce provides customers with an intuitive conversational way to discover and shop for products or services. This includes recommendations (which are the most romantic hotels near the beach in north goa / show me some in ear headphones with awesome bass), information (does this mobile support dash charging / what’s it’s screen size), quality (how good is it’s camera / how have solo travellers rated this hotel), comparisons (which of these two options is better for gaming), guidance (how much ram do I really need / what are the benefits of laser autofocus) and a variety of other types of customer queries.

What will you do every day?

You will be working with PMs and research associates in delivering AI assistants of the highest quality to our varied set of clients and delivering engaging conversational experiences for customers. You will own intent understanding, testing activities of Haptik’s AI sales assistant product and drive continuous improvement of key success metrics. You should be someone who enjoys working with cutting-edge technology products, and is comfortable with analysing large data sets. You’ll be joining a young and energetic team with a startup environment within the sprawling Navi Mumbai Jio Campus. The exceptional food is an added delight.

Ok, you're sold, but what are we looking for in the perfect candidate?

  • You will work with research associates & help maintain knowledge graphs used by the AI Assistant for various product / service categories within E-Commerce / Insurance / Financial Services / Travel / Related Domains.
  • Improve the assistants ability to understand user messages, by annotating unrecognized customer queries (both text and voice) with the correct intents and parameters.
  • This will require you to deeply grasp the AI assistant’s intent and domain terminology model. These annotations would be done using traditional tools such as excel as well as through custom annotation web interfaces.
  • Test the AI assistant across different domains by simulating conversations to identify gaps in it’s knowledge or classification algorithms.
  • Provide feedback to the product team regarding improvement/changes to the ecommerce assistant platform.


  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in Analytical functions / AI Training / Annotation / Manual Testing related to information services or a product based company.
  • Demonstrates initiative, a self-starter with analytical skills, attention to detail, problemsolving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to build a deep grasp of complex domains and a mind tuned for high speed classification / analysis.
  • Passion about conversational AI (especially virtual assistants) is a must.
