Haptik’s Virtual Assistant for Commerce provides customers with an intuitive conversational way
to discover and shop for products or services. This includes recommendations (which are the
most romantic hotels near the beach in north goa / show me some in ear headphones with
awesome bass), information (does this mobile support dash charging / what’s it’s screen size),
quality (how good is it’s camera / how have solo travellers rated this hotel), comparisons (which
of these two options is better for gaming), guidance (how much ram do I really need / what are
the benefits of laser autofocus) and a variety of other types of customer queries.
What will you do every day?
You will be responsible for architecting, developing and scaling systems that form the core
platform of Haptik’s commerce Virtual Assistants. You would be expected to work across
projects spanning Natural Language Processing, Semantic Search, Knowledge Graphs, Web
Data, Client API Integrations and Analytics.
Ok, you're sold, but what are we looking for in the perfect candidate? (Requirements)*
Must have a Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering.
3+ years experience in python based software development building and improving
internet-scale products / services.
Has in-depth knowledge of backend systems, design principles, good coding practices.
Has worked with databases and search systems to optimize for performance and
scalability. Preferably with MongoDB and ElasticSearch.
Has good skills at estimation and breaking down a project into smaller, manageable
Experience with language understanding, semantic search and information retrieval
systems will be preferred.
Exposure to tools like Git and JIRA would be an added benefit.
Comfortable working in a CI/CD delivery environment.
